Rosa Ellen (Quellin Thompson) Partin passed away at 7:55 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

On Aug. 23, 1925, Rosa Ellen Quellin was born to John and Ellie (Goshie) Quellin in Ewing, Virginia.

She had one sister, Liza Jane, who preceded her in death.

In 1938, Rosa married Hymn R. Thompson, from their union came seven children, three of which preceded her in death - James, Bobby and Harry Thompson. Left to cherish wonderful, loving memories of Rosa are her surviving children - Arthur (Betty) Thompson of Cloverdale, Ruth (Larry) McMinn of Ohio City, Leona Stevens of Ohio City and John (Margie) Thompson of Grover Hill.

In 1956 Hymn passed away. In 1964 Rosa moved from the Virginia-Kentucky area to Ohio and then in 1975 she married Milford J. Partin - who also preceded her in death. Rosa and Milford enjoyed 26 years of marriage with 21 grandchildren (2 of which are deceased), 50 great-grandchildren (5 of which are deceased) and 14 great-great-grandchildren - with one on the way in May 2013. She also leaves behind her furry friend, her dog, Princess.

Rosa enjoyed the Scriptures, Gospel and Bluegrass music. She was very active in the Community Health Professionals Adult Daycare, where she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and making crafts for family and friends. Rosa worked mainly as a housewife, but she did enjoy working at Betty's Elephant Ears at the Van Wert County Fair each year - she served each treat with a smile. Rosa never met someone she did not like - everyone was a friend to her once they met.

Rosa's services are being handled by Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory where friends may call on the family from 9 - 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Revs. Joe Weiss and Paul Hamrick will officiate. Rosa will be laid to rest in Ohio City at Woodlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.

*The family would like to thank the staff of the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center for the wonderful care they gave to Rosa as she made her journey from earth to the arms of Jesus. You girls are amazing! God bless you all!
