Rosemary T. Deitsch, 75, of Rockford, Ohio passed away at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Colonial Nursing Center, Rockford, where she had been a patient. She was born on December 15, 1937, to Francis and Henrietta (Hirth) Fowler, in Chicago, Illinois. On November 27, 1959, she married John Deitsch, who preceded in death on September 9, 2009. She had lived in the area since about 1968. Rosemary retired from Huffy's Bicycle Manufacturing in Celina, Ohio, after working 30 years as a wheel lacer. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Rockford, and a member of the United Steel Workers. She was an avid gardener, taking great pride in her flowers and her yard. She was seen in the warm months, mowing and trimming her yard, always doing it herself, because in Rosemary's eyes, no one could make that lawn look as beautiful as she could! She loved her family, and when she became a grandmother, she enjoyed buying gifts for the grandchildren and baby sitting for them. She loved singing karaoke, and also enjoyed having all the family over for big family meals, where she always served lots of potato salad, mashed potatoes, and her favorite, chicken! Whenever the local police were sitting in front of her home, checking on the cars entering and leaving the corporation limit, she would run out with cookies and a pop for the patrolman... she always appreciated their efforts in making Rockford a safe place in which to live. Surviving are three sons: Aaron Lee Deitsch, Rockford, Jon Scott (Gaylene) Deitsch of Celina, and Greg (Renee) Deitsch, also of Celina; five grandchildren: Jason, Jacob, Sarah, Hallie, and Holly Deitsch; two brothers: Edward (Sharon) Fowler, Celina, and Raymond Fowler, Itasca, Illinois; two sisters: Lorraine Heiland, Celina, and Margaret (Charles) Muhlenkamp, Urbana, Ohio, and a brother-in-law, Carl Deitsch, Celina, Ohio. Deceased are two brothers: Donald and Robert Fowler, one sister: Delores Deitsch, a sister-in-law, Pat Fowler, and a brother-in-law, Norman Heiland. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 25, 2013, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Rockford, with Father Alt officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Friends may call on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. and from 9:30am until 10:15 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home before departing for the church for the service.
