R. Paul Bidlack

GROVER HILL, Ohio — R. Paul Bidlack, 92, of Grover Hill, died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, at Vancrest of Van Wert.

He was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Grover Hill, to Edna (McClure) Bidlack and Aaron Ray Bidlack. His parents are deceased.

His wife, Shirley A. (Thrasher) Bidlack, preceded him in death on March 6, 2017. They were married Oct. 2, 1943.

Survivors include children, Connie (Tom) Baldwin of New Haven, Indiana, Paulette (Richard) Stemen of Payne, Ohio, Patricia Bidlack of Convoy, Ohio, Rudy (Ellen) Bidlack of Scott, Ohio; daughters-in-law, Cheryl Bidlack and Jenni Bidlack, both of Van Wert, Ohio; sisters, Emma Ruth Crone Rosengarten of Leipsic, Ohio, Edna Mae (Dale) Spitnale of Oakwood, Ohio; grandchildren, Angie Wyss, Shari Hegerfeld, Christie Wright, Broc Bidlack, Brian Bidlack, Kent Stemen, Cameron Bidlack, Lynn Bidlack, Ryan Bidlack, Dustin Bidlack and Heather Grant; 28 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis Bidlack and Jeff Bidlack; brothers, Clarence, James, John, and Marion Bidlack; sisters, Dorothy Thompson, Vera Apfel, Irene Blythe, and Mary Hoverman.

He was a lifetime farmer and retired from B.F. Goodrich in Woodburn, Indiana. He attended Mandale Church of Christ in Mandale, Ohio. He was a former member of Roselm Grange, Grover Hill Lions Club, Grover Hill Community Club, Grover Hill and Paulding School Boards of Education. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years.

Service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, at Mandale Church of Christ, Mandale. Burial will be in Middle Creek Cemetery, Grover Hill. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.

Preferred memorial is Mandale Church of Christ or Grover Hill E.M.S.
