Ruby Virginia Flowers, 71, of Mendon, Ohio, went home to heaven peacefully with a smile on her face early Saturday morning, February 25, 2017, with her family by her side. She was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, on January 24, 1946, the daughter of Clara (Wallace) Mock. Ruby was a homemaker, and for the past 26 years had lived in Mendon, moving there from Akron, Ohio. Ruby loved crocheting, and spent much time making an array of beautiful things. She loved working with her many houseplants and working outside in her flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and especially her three grandchildren. And she loved watching her favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Surviving is her companion, Pam Bowen of Mendon, Ohio, one daughter, Teresa (Rodney) Le Bare of Akron, Ohio, and one son, Chester (Kristin) Flowers, also of Akron. Three grandchildren also survive: Quintin, Josiah, and Hayleigh Flowers, all of Akron. Services will be held for Ruby on Wednesday, March, 1, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, Ohio, with her son, Rev. Chester Flowers officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., when the service will begin.
