Ruby Giessler

VAN WERT, Ohio - Ruby M. Giessler, 81, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert.
She was born Sept. 22, 1932, in Hoaglin Township, Van Wert County, Ohio, to the late Leah (Roop) Thatcher and Thurman A. Thatcher.
Survivors include her children: Susan M. (Don) Mosier of Convoy, Ohio, and Shelly M. (Shawn) Dunno of Van Wert, four grandchildren: Jason (Katie) Mosier of Van Wert, Megan Mosier of Kettering, Ohio, and Zen and Logan Collins, both of Van Wert, and a great-grandchild: Lane Mosier.
She was preceded in death by her brothers: Donald Wayne, Richard, Garry and Larry Thatcher, and a sister: Pauline Thatcher.
She retired in 1999 after 23 years at Teleflex, Van Wert. She attended Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert and was a 1951 graduate of Van Wert High School. Ruby loved to play cards, bingo and attend auctions. Most importantly, she was a loving mother, grandmother, just recently, a great-grandmother and a friend to many. She will be truly missed.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. The Rev. Paul Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City, Ohio.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center or Gideon's International.
