Ruth Canary

Ruth W. Canary, 91, of Rockford, Ohio passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:44 pm at her daughter's residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Washington Court House, Ohio on March 14, 1923 to Harry Guy and Jennie Gertrude (Flint) Ford. She married Ralph P. Canary on October 27, 1945. He preceded her in death on October 3, 1994. Ruth was a homemaker who loved her family and cooking and baking for them. She also loved gardening and pulling weeds. Her biggest hobby, though, was just piddlin' around. Ruth is survived by two sons: Terry (Mary Lee) Canary, Celina, Ohio; Keith (Cindy) Canary, Rockford, Ohio. One daughter survives: Donna Riley and Troy of Rockford, Ohio. Her sister, Doris Borns of Celina also survives. Two brothers: Gene and Phillip Ford are deceased. Ruth was loved by six Grandchildren: Chris (Penny) Canary, Traci Canary, Amy (Dave) Bransteter, Shannon (Ray) Frick, Shane Riley and Julie and Jessica (Ryan) Herzog. Eleven Great-Grandchildren survive: Slade (Kerri) Canary, Afton and Logan Canary; Miranda and Mason Temple; Riley and Raegen Bransteter; Stone and Coleton Riley; Amanda and Andrew Frick. Ruth had one great-great-grandchild: Kynslee Temple. Services will be held at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Celina on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Pastor Ken Baker will be officiating. Family and friends may call on the family at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 2:00 until 8:00 PM. Viewing will also be at the church 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
