Ruth Mosier

August 30, 1940 — March 10, 2015

Ruth M. (Schoenleben) Mosier died peacefully on March 10, 2015 at her daughter's home in Grove City, Ohio at the age of 70 after a battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her daughter, Connie J. (Scott) Stover of Grove City, OH; two step-daughters, Joyce Clay of Van Wert, OH and Linda Kendall of Fort Wayne, IN; brothers Glen (Phyllis) Schoenleben and Bud (Patty) Schoenleben; sister-in-law, Ruth (Blankenship) Schoenleben; grandchildren, Whitney Stover of Cincinnati, OH, Nathan Stover, Andrew Stover, Aaron Stover, and Emily Stover; Step-grandchildren, Shawn (Candy) Clay and Kevin Clay, both of Van Wert, OH, Nicholas (Kristi) Kendall of Fort Wayne, IN and Shannon (Eric) Goody of Fort Polk, Louisiana; and 8 step- great grandchildren. She was born August 30, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of William & Marie (Young) Schoenleben, who both preceded her in death. She married Ralph E. Mosier on December 24, 1964 and they were together for 19 years with their marriage ending in divorce 1983. Neither one re-married. Ruth worked for Teleflex Inc. from September 9, 1971 to June 16, 2000, at which time she moved to Meridian, Mississippi to do missionary work. While in Mississippi, she worked for Sara Lee Bakery. She then moved to Findlay, OH and worked for McDonalds Restaurant. She later moved to Canal Winchester, OH, where she worked as a Special Needs Caregiver with Titus House. This was a job that she was very passionate about and she showed her love and compassion for others every day, until her illness forced her to take a permanent leave of absence. She battled cancer with a lot of prayer and Chemotherapy and eventually moved Grove City to live with her daughter, with the care of OhioHealth Hospice. Her last move was to Heaven, where she will meet her mother for the first time and be with Jesus for eternity! Prior to her illness, she enjoyed riding her bike, taking walks, reading, crocheting with yarn, and spending time with her grandchildren. Ruth was a born-again Christian and was very strong in her faith. She was a member and Deacon of Columbus Christian Center in Columbus, OH. Her message to everyone she has left behind is: "Be kind to people, because you never know what they've been through or what they're about to go through". She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth Schoenleben; ex-husband, Ralph E. Mosier and daughter, Debbra Marie Mosier. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. Burial will be in Brock Cemetery in Versailles, Ohio. Calling hours are from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society.
