OHIO CITY, Ohio - Ruth E. Pate, 76, of Ohio City, died at 8:50 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2012, at her residence.
She was born April 4, 1936, in Paulding County, Ohio, to the late Georgia Mae (Morrow) Hamman and Raymond "Bob" Hamman. Her husband, Barry M. Pate, died Aug. 14, 2000.
Survivors include a daughter: Charlene Nunez of Cloverdale, Ohio; a brother: Jack Hamman; a sister: Janet Parton of Leo, Ind.; three grandchildren: Mike Imler, Michele Siebert and Miguel Nunez, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, James D. Imler, and a brother, James Hamman.
She worked hard all her life but recently worked at The Iron Horse Bar about five years then worked at The Gathering Place for three years, both in Ohio City. She was a life member of the Van Wert VFW Auxiliary, Van Wert, Ohio; the Van Wert American Legion Auxiliary, Van Wert, and a former member of the Cloverdale Community Club, Cloverdale, Ohio.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2012, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Robert Pauley will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Community Health Professionals Hospice Program.
