Sally Schalois

Sally A. Schalois, 82, of Van Wert, formerly of Vero Beach, Florida, died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, at Vancrest of Van Wert, Van Wert. She was born Oct. 25, 1933, in Buffalo, New York, to the late Edna Mae (Harvey) Bening and Chester August Bening.
Her husband, Milton "Mel" Schalois, died July 24, 2015. They were married on Aug. 13, 1955.
Survivors include children, Kurt (Teresa) Schalois of Van Wert, Karen (Mark) Arold of Tilton, New Hampshire, and Kelly (Dave) Knight, Chapel Hill, North Carolina; a sister, Nancy (Bob) Dunne, Florida; grandchildren, Kayla (Brandon) Crawford, Morissa (Colton) Buschman, Jon "Kase" Schalois, Korbin Schalois, Paul M. Arold, Maxwell J. Arold, Kara (Knight) (spouse - Adam) Lee, and Kortney Knight, and great-grandchildren, Reese Crawford, Maddox Crawford, and Arrah Buschman.
She was a homemaker and teacher. She was formerly a member of First Presbyterian Church, Van Wert, TWIG group of Van Wert County Hospital, and Willow Bend Country Club, Van Wert. She was a beautiful artist and a well-loved wife, mother and grandmother and adored by all.
Private family services will be held.
