HAVILAND, Ohio - Shirley E. Yoh, 80, Haviland, passed away at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born Sept. 23, 1931, in Oak Hill, Ohio, to the late Iva (Leonard) Adkins and Ernest Adkins. Her husband, Gale Yoh, survives in Haviland. The couple was married June 1, 1951.
Survivors include her children: Sharon (Don Jr.) Sinn of Defiance, Ohio, and Cheryl Hull of Van Wert, Ohio; brothers: Virgil (Jo) Adkins of Van Wert and Weldon (Georgianna) Adkins of Haviland; sisters: Freda Farris of Grover Hill, Ohio, Ruth Healy of Van Wert, Betty Myers of Paulding, Ohio, Sandra Lee of Haviland, Nancy (Dave) Laukhuf of Paulding and Merri Adkins of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; grandchildren: Katie Maclin, Betsy Sinn, Jesse (Nikki) Hull, Casey Hull and Angie Hull, and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Charles Hobert Adkins, and two infant siblings.
She retired from Dana Weatherhead, Antwerp, Ohio.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, Ohio. The Rev. Paul Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Haviland. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Community Health Professionals-Hospice OR Paulding Visiting Nurses.
