Stanley G. Yaney, 89, of Barrington, Illinois, formerly of Rockford, Ohio died May 2, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Stanley is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary (Ketcham) Yaney; children, Julie (Geoff) Kamin, John Yaney, Lisa (John) Arnold, and Joe (Nicky) Yaney, all of the Chicago, Illinois area. Six grandchildren survive: Ally, Tyler, Nora, Mackenzie, Ben, and Kate. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Frances Yaney, who lived in Rockford, and his sister, Mary, and his brother, Robert. Stanley faced combat, serving with the U.S. Army in the European Theater during WWII. He graduated with an engineering degree from Ohio State University and later received his MBA from the University of Chicago. He worked for IBM for most of his professional career. After retirement he opened Yaney's Fried Chicken in Elgin, Illinois. Services for Stanley will be held privately. Memorial donations, in his name, may be made to a food pantry of your choice.
