Susan Eickholt

Susan J. Eickholt, 81, of Van Wert, passed away at 11:29 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born April 18, 1935, in Kalida, the daughter of Perry and Beatrice (Stauffer) Krouse, who both preceded her in death. She married Martin "Jack" Eickholt, who also preceded her in death, in 2000.
Survivors include three children, Mike (Michelle) Eickholt of Van Wert, Cynthia (Doug) Jones of Venedocia, and Jeff (Lisa) Eickholt of Easley, South Carolina; a brother, Nolan Krouse of Kalida; one brother-in-law, Fred Shirey of Continental; a sister-in-law, Margaret Cleaves of Elida; eight grandchildren, Walter LaCourse, Jacob (Courtney) Butler, Dr. Kim Eickholt, Caitlin (Phil) Olsen, Lyndsay (Josh) Jewell, Kirstie Eickholt, Emily Bollenbacher, and Josh Eickholt; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Susan was retired from Central Insurance Company. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Van Wert.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, August 5, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with Chaplain Dan Finkhousen and Pastor Jim Burns officiating. Burial will be in Cascade Cemetery in Cloverdale.
Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, August 4, at the funeral home.
