VAN WERT, Ohio - Syble Louise Beard, 77, of Van Wert, died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at Vancrest Health Care Center, Van Wert.
She was born Sept. 13, 1936, in Osceola, Ark., to the late Dovie Odal (Hopper) Moore and John Moore.
Her husband, Carl Beard, died Oct. 28, 2004. They were married April 15, 1978.
Survivors include her children: Randy Moore of Colorado, Jeff (Deb) Looney of Wichita, Kan., Debra (Earl) Bledsoe of Van Wert, Cathy Vance of Gibson City, Ill., Pamela Santiago of Urbana, Ill., grandchildren: Misty Looney, Amber (Looney) Dillard, Stacy (Looney) David Bole, Tera (Bledsoe) Michael Kapangama, Carl and Rachel (Weaver) Bledsoe, Jeremy Vance, Christina (Vance) Jason Howell, Jason Costello, Tabitha (Costello) Rob Ford, Levi Looney, Kevin Palmer, and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son: Bruce Looney, brother: Aaron Moore, and sisters: Dorothy Howard and Hazel Looney.
She attended Jennings Road Church of Christ, Van Wert, and was a member of Saybrook Christian Church, Saybrook, Ill.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Dave Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Bellflower Twp. Cemetery, Bellflower, Ill.
Calling will be held from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Alzheimer's Association.
