VAN WERT, Ohio - Tamela S. "Tammy" Gibson, 41, of Scott, Ohio, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011, in Van Wert County, Ohio.
She was born July 15, 1970, in Sandusky, Ohio. Her mother, Linda L. (Funkhouser) Donaldson, survives in Haviland. Ohio. Her stepmother, Parketta Meggitt, survives in Norwalk, Ohio. Her father, Alfred L. Meggitt is deceased. Her stepfather, Richard "Doder" Akom, survives in Scott. Her husband, Jason Gibson, survives of Scott. They were married Oct. 7, 1994
Other survivors include her children: Lindsey N. Gibson and Alexis R. Gibson, both of Scott; her mother-in-law: Tolanda Mosier of Van Wert, father-in-law: Harold E. Gibson of New Port Richey, Fla.; brothers: Robert L. Meggitt of Franklin, Ind., John W. Meggitt of Van Wert, A.G. (Christina) Meggitt of Norwalk; sisters: Karen L. Meggitt, Laurie A. Bergman and Amy E. (Jeff) Cotterman, all of Scott, and Kristin R. (Dustin) Fitch of Sebring, Fla.; two sisters-in-law: Lori (John) Banet of Holiday, Fla., and Susan (Weston) Mills of Van Wert, and 21 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her stepmother-in-law: Patti Gibson, brother-in-law: Mike Gibson, and two sisters: Cynthia and Susan Meggitt.
She owned and operated the Scott Variety Store in Scott.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 31 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Donald Marlowe will officiate. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery, Scott.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, July 30 at the funeral home.
