Thomas Lee Arnold, 66, of Leo, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014. Born on August 31, 1947, he was a son of the late John and Eileen (Rademaker) Arnold. Tom graduated from Leo High School and served in the United States Army for three years during the Vietnam War Era. On August 8, 1970 he married the love of his life, Cheryl (Custer), formerly of Rockford, and began a family. Tom worked on the assembly line at DANA for over 36 years before retiring in 2001. He was a member of Leo United Methodist Church, Cedar Creek Golf Club and a member of the American Legion Post 409. Tom enjoyed bowling, golfing and spending time at the beach. He enjoyed spending time with his family and taking family trips to Sarasota, Fl., Hilton Head, S.C., and Michigan. Tom was a sports fanatic as well as a "big jokester". He loved his family and grandsons dearly; he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Cheryl Arnold of Leo; son, Jon (Jen) Arnold of Fort Wayne; daughter, Jana (Barry) Gerardot of Leo; four grandsons, Kaden, Karsten, Carter, and Fenton; mother, Evalyn (William) Davis of New Haven; brother, William (Helen) Arnold of Montpelier, OH.; and his black lab, Abbey. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Johnny LaVon. Funeral service will be 11 am Wednesday August 27, at Leo United Methodist Church, 13527 Leo Rd, Leo, IN 46765, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8pm, on Tuesday August 26, at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Leo Memorial Cemetery, Leo, Ind.
