VAN WERT, Ohio a�" Veva "Ve" L. Cline, 102, of Van Wert, died at 9:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at Vancrest Healthcare, Van Wert.
She was born Nov. 13, 1912, in Union County, Iowa, to the late Cara (Stoner) Butler and Clarence E. Butler.
Her husband, Clarence E. Cline, died in 1976.
Survivors include children: James (Cindy) Cline of Winchester, Virginia, and Diane (Larry) Mengerink of Van Wert; four grandchildren: Joel (Tracey) Mengerink, Larry (Rebecca) Mengerink, Cara (Garth) Hoellrich, and Nicole (David) Mitchell; seven great-grandchildren: Jared, Jenna, Emily Mengerink and James Mengerink, Caden, Grayson, and Caylee Hoellrich, and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Paul Butler, and two sisters: Doris Williams and Beatrice Walters.
She operated "Jollytime Nursery School" out of her home in Van Wert. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert, Van Wert Woman's Club, Van Wert Historical Society, Van Wert Retired Teachers, Van Wert YWCA, and a life member of Van Wert American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid Van Wert sports fan a�" especially football, basketball and cross country.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Paul Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is First United Methodist Church or Van Wert American Legion Auxiliary.
