Virginia M. Etzler of Convoy, died at 8:54 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, at Vancrest of Van Wert.
She was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Van Wert, Ohio, to Olga (Wade) Reed and Earl Reed. Her parents are deceased.
Her husband, Wilhelm “Bill” A. Etzler, died March 28, 1996. They were married Oct. 22, 1949.
Survivors include a son, James “Jim” (Judy) Etzler of Paulding, Ohio; grandchildren, Jeremy (Jamie) Etzler and Mandi (Terry) Scarlett; stepgrandchildren, Linda (Tony) Sholl and Karen (Ryan) Flint; great-grandchildren, Austin Etzler, Justin Etzler, Courtney Harr, Evan Scarlett, Ean Scarlett and Elijah Scarlett, and a stepgreat-grandchild, Bryce Sholl.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Rogers; a brother, Paul Reed; a sister, Helen Klewer, and two granddaughters, Michelle and Christe Rogers.
She was a homemaker and had also worked at National Seal in Van Wert. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Convoy, and the Redeemer Lutheran Church Ladies Guild and Harrison Township Farm Wives.
Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2017, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Convoy. The Rev. Mike Saylor will officiate. Burial will be in Convoy I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Convoy. Visitation is 3 - 7 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
Preferred memorial is Joan, Michelle & Christe Rogers Scholarship Fund.
