VAN WERT, Ohio - Virginia M. "Ginny" Hoffman, 84, of Van Wert, died at 4:55 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert.
She was born Oct. 6, 1928, in Decatur, Ind., to the late Marie (Schueller) Kukelhan and Frederick Kukelhan.
Her husband, Howard M. Hoffman, preceded her in death.
Survivors include children: Linda (James) Sheppard of Van Wert, Lois (Robert) Victor of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Dana (Lisa) Hoffman of Dallas, Ga., Beth Wyatt of Kansas City, Kan., and Jill (Jerry) Wermer of Van Wert; brother: Walter (Lorna) Kukelhan of Decatur, Ind.; sisters: Emmalou Stegman of Ossian, Ind., Dorothy (Clarence) Oetting of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Alice Bauermeister of Ossian, Ind.; 11 grandchildren: Ben (Kate) Sheppard, Rachel (Pete) Van Niel, Aaron Victor, Alison Victor, Alexis Victor, Aaron Hoffman, Lindsay Hoffman, Marcie (Ryan) Teel, Clair Wyatt, Ryann Wermer, Reed Wermer, and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers: Albert, Elmer and Frederick Kukelhan, and a sister: Betty Hill.
She was a homemaker and retired from the Van Wert City School's cafeteria. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Van Wert, and the Ladies Guild of the church.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Van Wert. The Rev. William Barlow will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, and one hour prior to service on Thursday at the church.
Preferred memorial is Emmanuel Lutheran Church OR The Lutheran Hour OR Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
