VAN WERT, Ohio - Virginia Ann Williams, 76, of Van Wert, died at 7:05 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Vancrest Health Care Center, Van Wert.
She was born March 26, 1936, in Switzerland County, Ind., to the late Aldean (Courtney) Heath and Warren W. Heath.
Survivors include her children: Ricky Lynn (Alice) Johns, Barry Wane (Linda Wolford) Johns, Sallie Ann (Randy) Roberts and Debra Jean (Gary) Ashbaugh, all of Van Wert; two brothers: Charles W. (Linda) Heath of Van Wert, OH; Onley W. (Elsie) Heath of Sugar Creek, Ohio; a sister: Hilda Trammell of Van Wert; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and seven nephews.
She was preceded in death by a niece, one nephew and a sister-in-law.
She retired as a cook and bartender at the Van Wert Eagles Lodge. She was a member of the Van Wert American Legion Auxiliary Post 178 where she was president for three years, a member of the 8 et 40 Le Petit Salon No. 741 of Wood County, Ohio, and a life member of Van Wert VFW Auxiliary Post 5803. She was also the 1st and 2nd vice president and chairman of the Buckeye Girl's State.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. Onley W. Heath will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point, Ohio.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012, at the funeral home. An American Legion Auxiliary memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday evening.
Preferred memorial is American Legion Auxiliary Post 178 Buckeye Girls State.
