W. DeWayne Hyman, 81, of Van Wert, died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born September 8, 1934, in Van Wert County, the son of Wilbur L. and N. Pauline (Short) Hyman, who both preceded him in death. He married Nancy (Howard) Hyman, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include three children, Rhonda Hyman Michael of Van Wert, Jolene (Aaron) Molaski of Lima, and Lynn Stoffel of Van Wert; a sister, Arlene Keysor of Van Wert; six grandchildren, Joshua (Rachel) Rager, Whitney Rager, Veronica Jewett, Casey Jewett, Brenden Craig, and Austin Molaski; and three great-grandchildren, Keegan, Kamden, and Mackenzie.

A son, Douglas Denny; and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Keysor, also preceded him in death.
A good friend, Dean Tomlinson, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

DeWayne was a lifetime farmer in Ridge Township and was a Ridge Township trustee for more than 20 years.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and loved to bowl, play cards and root for the Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, at the funeral home.
