William Bruns

William H. Bruns, 73, of Rockford, Ohio, formerly of Decatur, Indiana, died on Sunday, January 11, 2015, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford, where he had been a patient. He was born July 14, 1941, in Darke County, Ohio, to Ferdinand John and Viola Margaret (Berning) Bruns. He was an auto mechanic for many years in the Decatur, Indiana area. Surviving are six sisters: Thelma (Carl) Grilloit of Laxahatchee, Florida, Wilma (Dale) Quellhorst of St. Marys, Ohio, Darlene Thees of Celina, Ohio, Clara Beougher of Rockford, Ohio, Vicki Giere of Celina, Ohio, and Mildred (Paul Jr.) Donovan, also of Celina. Three brothers survive: Robert (Martha) Bruns of Rockford, Mike (Rita) Bruns of Michigan, and Thomas Bruns of Wapakoneta, Ohio, along with one brother-in-law, Bill Hornberger, of Celina. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased are four sisters: Ruth Ann McMahan, Helen Peirson, Marie Hornberger, Martha Young and her husband Steve Young; two brothers are deceased: John Bruns, and his wife Pat (Coate) Bruns, and Donald Bruns. Deceased brother-in-laws are Larry Giere, Ronald Thees, and James Beougher. Two nephews, Randy Young and Ken McMahan have also preceded in death, along with one niece, Jessica Young. Graveside services for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at 1:00 p.m., at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina, Ohio, with Rev. Charles Richtmyer officiating. There will be no calling hours.
