William "Chubby" Young

William Richard "Chubby" Young, 73, of Van Wert passed away at 7:15 pm on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Van Wert Health.

Born on May 24, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late William Young and Cora (Haffner) Young, who survives. He married the former Kay Lawson, who preceded him in death.

Chubby attended Milan High School in Milan, Ohio.

Chubby retired from the County of Emmet in Petoskey, Michigan. He was a veteran of the United States Marines.

Chubby was a Past President of the Petoskey Eagles, avid hunter and fisherman, and foster parent.

Surviving in addition to his mother, Cora, are his children, Tammy (Tim) Wheeler of Van Wert and William "Billy" (Tammis) Young of Petoskey; grandchildren, Devin, Ian and Sedrick Poe; great grandchildren, Jaxon, McKenna, and Brooklynn; and brothers, Fredrick (Nora) Young of Elyria, Ohio, Jack (Debora) Young of Elyria, and Ted (Rose) Young of Norwalk, Ohio.
