William Fair

ROCKFORD, Ohio a�" William G. "Bill" Fair, 81, of Rockford, died at 3:12 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
He was born Dec. 19, 1932, in Van Wert County, Ohio, to the late Ilo May(Keltner) Fair Hertel Hoghe and Thomas Gordon Fair.
His wife, Beverly J. (Hoaglin) Fair, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter: Kathy Fair of Van Wert.
He was preceded in death by a son: Joseph Gordon Fair, and two half brothers: Edward James Hertel and Gerald Hertel.
He was a lifetime farmer. He formerly worked at Ley Equipment and Montgomery Wards. He formerly served on the Mercer County Fair Board. He graduated from Ridge High School.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Randy Christian will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Visitation will be from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is the Mercer County fairgrounds.
