William Leiter

William C. “Bill” Leiter, 85, of Van Wert, died at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Vancrest of Van Wert.
He was born Oct. 10, 1931, in Van Wert County, to Velma (Mongold) Leiter and Carey Leiter. His parents are deceased.
His wife, Martha A. (Plumb) Leiter, is deceased. They were married May 2, 1954.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Jean (Herb) Fetzer of Delphos, Ohio, a brother, Richard “Dick” (Jan) Leiter of Van Wert, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Ray Leiter, and two sisters, Carolyn and Marilyn Leiter.
He was a truck driver with R. B. Leasing for 30 years. He attended First United Brethren in Christ Church in Van Wert and often spent his free time with his friends at the Sportsman Club.
Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Pastor Jody Harr will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to First United Brethren in Christ Church.
