Wilma Snyder

VAN WERT, Ohio a�" Wilma J. Snyder, of Van Wert, died at 10:56 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born June 15, 1927, in Paulding County, Ohio, to the late Alma (Keysor) Foust and Lafayette Foust.
Her husband, Dale E. Snyder, died July 7, 2000. They were married June 11, 1949.
Survivors include a son, James D. (Kristie) Snyder of Van Wert; one brother, Robert (Sue) Foust of Westerville, Ohio; three grandchildren, Scott (Lanna) Pollock, Arica (Ryan) Wermer, and Andrea (Dennis) Merriman, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Carl Foust, and a sister, A. Eileen Rethmel.
She was a retired school teacher having taught at Hoaglin-Jackson and Lincolnview Marsh for 33 1/2 years. She retired in 1992. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert and the Van Wert Woman's Club, and a life member of the Ohio Retired Teacher's Association and the Van Wert Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of Sugar & Spice Home Extension Club and Phoebe Group of United Methodist Women.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point, Ohio.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Van Wert Inpatient Hospice and First United Methodist Church.
